The standard in classical Pilates

Classical, systematic, integrative

Joseph Pilates spent a lifetime perfecting his method. We teach it the way it was meant to be taught, in the original order, vocabulary, and intent.

01

Classical

Our Power Pilates programs honor the original teachings, principles, vocabulary, and exercise order passed down from Joseph Pilates.

02

Systematic

Each exercise and session follows a meaningful sequence, organized with a natural yet defined purpose and progression.

03

Integrative

Our teachers understand the purpose of each apparatus and how to intelligently bring them into a session at the right time for you.

Centering · Concentration · Control · Precision · Breath · Flow

Joseph Pilates spent a lifetime perfecting his method. Experience what a century of tradition can do for you.

Getting started

How to begin

A clear, unhurried path from your first message to a practice you look forward to.

  1. 01

  2. 02

    Start with an intro private

New students begin one-on-one with an instructor who assesses your body, introduces the apparatus, and shows you the foundations safely.

  3. 03

    Choose your path

Keep going with privates, add semi-privates with a partner, or step into our small group classes on the Reformer, Tower, Chair, or Mat.

  4. 04

    Build a practice

Come back consistently and the changes follow. As Joseph Pilates put it: in 10 sessions you feel the difference, in 20 you see it, in 30 you have a whole new body.

I can't imagine where I would be today if it were not for Pilates with Joann over the last twenty months. I came to Classic Pilates right after suffering a stroke, looking to strengthen my core. What I didn't expect is what it has done for the overall strength and balance of my left leg, which polio left with close to total muscle atrophy in 1954. This summer I climbed over 600 steps up Skellig Michael with my daughter, something I could never have done before Pilates. Thank you, Joann.

Pilates has increased my mind-body awareness, strengthened my core, and improved my back pain after surgery. It has noticeably improved my posture and the flexibility of my spine. Classic Pilates is a place where I can become re-centered physically and mentally.
